This week’s photo and a link to literature is Jasper (the land shark, labrador retriever puppy, 12 weeks old.) who could be writing his first novel, ‘What I think about when I think about ’biting’ humans’. What I wouldn’t give to understand how that puppy mind is working right now.
I think, if this dog could write, it would probably be in the style of Haruki Murakami. ‘What I think about when I think about Running’, was Murakami’s metaphorical book about running, his identity as runner and writer, and it’s my favourite, because I love running and I’ll be forever fascinated with identity. His other books, if you’ve not read them are sometimes surreal but there’s often a theme of routine and habit running through them.
I think this reference is fitting for a dog who has forced us all out of our morning scroll routines and into the woods at 6am.
